Homeschool Courses

We love our homeschoolers. We believe that homeschool education is an effective tool that can help students grow, thrive, explore potential future pursuits, and gain access to the individualized care and quality of instruction needed for a student to master a subject or skill. Whether your child struggles or excels, we are here to serve them and help them move toward their future goals. Each year, almost every homeschool student who works with us grows a minimum of two grade levels in content knowledge and mastery throughout the year. We are excited to see your child succeed!

Below, you will find information regarding our Homeschool Course offerings for the Fall 2019/Spring 2020 school year. When you are ready to register for a course, please complete our Course Registration Form HERE.

**PLEASE NOTE: If you are planning on participating in Dual Enrollment through Cape Fear Community College for Junior and/or Senior year of High School, CFCC expects students to have completed Integrated Math I, Math II, and Math III so that students can begin their Dual Enrollment year(s) with Math 171 (Pre-Calculus) at CFCC. Math I, II, and III incorporate additional math content and topics that are NOT a part of the traditional curriculum pathway of Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Students who successfully follow the Integrated Math I, II, and III curriculum pathway attain a higher degree of math content knowledge, are better prepared for Pre-Calculus, and are typically better prepared for the complex critical thinking involved in the SAT, ACT, and college-level math.

**Homeschool Course Calendar: You may find a pdf of our homeschool course calendar HERE. Please Note: This calendar displays weeks in which classes will be in session and weeks which will be taken off for breaks. Additionally, if the students in a class catch on quickly and move more rapidly through the material, they may be able to finish their course earlier in May. If your child must miss any classes, you are welcome to schedule a private session for the lost content at our individual session rate.

Class Size and Grouping:

If you would prefer for your child to have private instruction and an individually tailored course instead of participating in a group class setting, we offer Individual Courses at our Individual Session Rate of $50 per hour. Register HERE.

If you prefer small group classes: Students are placed into small group classes based on ability level, learning styles, and family scheduling preferences. Each class will have a minimum of two students and a maximum of four students.
**Please Note: A placement test may be needed to identify which students your child should be placed with. We truly seek to insightfully place students so that they will have the best chance of success and meaningful engagement with course content. If a placement test is necessary we will contact you to arrange a date/time at no charge.

Class Location:
Locations will be announced at a later date. Classes are centrally located for the students enrolled in each class.

Parent Drop Off:
The presence of at least one class parent is required on the premises while your child’s class is in session.

Cost:
The price of each course listed below includes instructional time and all materials. Class fees will be billed on the first day of each month. To reserve your child’s spot for the 2019-2020 school year, a $60 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of completing your Homeschool Course Registration Form. Upon completing your Registration Form, you will receive an emailed invoice via our secure online payment portal (Hosted by Intuit Quickbooks) where you will be able to submit payment via EFT transfer. Materials Included in Small Group Class Course Prices:

Additional Support
If you feel your child may need additional support outside of class instructional time, you will have access to the following options:

  • Homework Helpline: Our monthly subscription service ($50/month) that allows students to have direct access to ask their teacher for help via text, phone call, or FaceTime. Within 24 hours of receiving your child’s request for assistance via our Homework Helpline, your child’s teacher will respond with helpful notes, input, or a call/FaceTime to help your child move forward.
  • Individual Sessions: If you feel your child needs additional intensive support, you may always schedule a one-on-one session with your child’s teacher at our individual session rate. Individual sessions take place in your home or at the location of your choosing. Please note, your child’s need for intensive one-on-one support will be very unlikely given the design of our new class models and resources.

Summer Homeschool Booster Program
